American Contemporary Cowboy:
Brave providers and fearless protectors, they were also tender
balladeers. Fearless, clear-eyed and high minded. Dresses in hand
made clothing, depending upon the horses they rode, the leather
trappings and camp gear they fashioned and the food they cooked.
America continues to evolve in the freedom of its creative imagination,
which should bring us to enjoy being the best we can be.

| Arnold Vail was my cherished
friend, a wonderful artist and a beloved teacher to thousands.
He conducted painting seminars of special interest on locations
such as rural Wisconsin, the mountains of Northern New Mexico
and the Texas Hill Country. He shared his wonderful wit and
humor... and his faith. He gave every good thing he had in his
art. One may find bible verses, recipes, or warm greetings or
declarations scribbled on the back of his art. He simultaneously
drew four true to life characters from live models using charcoal
in the fingers of each hand and the toes of each foot. His works
hang in private collections and in museums including the Vatican.
This charming landscape was a favorite setting for Arnie's Classes |
